About the Choral Society

Monmouth Choral Society is a welcoming and friendly choir of about 120 members. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings 7.30-9.30 p.m. at Bridges Community Centre, Monmouth. We work hard, have fun and are committed to learning and performing a wide and ambitious programme of choral music. We have an outstanding professional conductor, Steven Kings, who charms and cajoles us into high levels of achievement. Each year we perform at least two major concerts with professional orchestra and soloists as well as a popular candlelit Christmas concert in St Mary’s Priory Church and a Summer concert. We hold choral workshops and master classes with renowned choral trainers such as David Hill, Director of the BBC Singers and The Bach Choir. We also have social activities and recently have sung in St David’s, Hereford and Gloucester Cathedrals over the summer break.
